| I grew up on the South Shore of Long Island and spent much of my youth hunting and fishing with my father and grandfather. I learned how to fresh water fly fish for trout by the time I was 8 years old. We fished for Bluefish and Stripers off Atlantic Beach and fished for Marlin, Tuna and Swordfish off of Shinnecock. I caught my first White Marlin at the age of 12. |
| After graduating from Hartwick College in 1979, I moved to South Florida and took a job working on a large sport fishing boat in Ft Lauderdale. For several years I traveled throughout the Bahamas and Florida Keys fishing for Sailfish and Marlin. During the summers I traveled to Gloucester and Provincetown and fished for Giant Tuna. I have personally caught several Tuna, the largest weighing 965 lbs. |
I have lived on Nantucket year round since 1981 with my wife Linda and our two boys Tyler and Sam. Both boys are avid fishermen and generally show their father how it is done. I started Sankaty Head Charters in the summer of 1996. Salt water fly fishing and light tackle spincasting for Bluefish, Striped Bass, Bonito, and False Albacore is my specialty.
